Basic map of RFCircle Area

I made up this map a while ago to show the extent of the RFCircle area we discussed at our meeting. The listing of growers within this region is forthcoming. I found out another site (www.localfoods.umn.edu) will be creating an interactive map soon, so I decided just to let them do it.

New York Times Magazine article relating to Regional Flavors

I just read an article in the Aug 30 New York Times Magazine about a family that took a new approach to working the family farm. I thought you would be interested in the story.

The headline was "Field Report: Family Heirlooms".

Art Leap in the Park Rapids Lakes Area

Art Leap was a very successful "open studio tour" last weekend, Sept 26 & 27.
Some of the Studios had a 50% increase in visitors this year.
One very interesting observation by an artist was: "It seemed that some of the visitors to the Studios just had it on their Summer Calendar of "Things to Do".
That's a good sign.
The Park Rapids Lakes Area Arts Council (PRLAAC) will be meeting next week to evaluate this year's event.
